Thoughts for the Day

We relive our past in our present

We relive our past in our present, in everything we do. Every time our memory buttons get pushed it prompts us to subconsciously relive those memories over and over until we see them and choose to detach from them.

Attachment to our past is what creates our re-actions in our present. Do you want to keep reliving those events over and over or do you wish to create new ones, based on wisdom gained from them?

It is time to release the old patterns and attachments so you can create the person you want to be now.

We honor freedom for ourselves, but have forgotten how to give it to others

We created this country for Freedom, and keep this freedom from those who think differently than we do.

In religion, we choose what we believe and persecute or separate ourselves from those who think differently. We judge them as less than we are.

We have done the same thing with color, language, and anything that makes "them" different than "us". We have created separate worlds within our world.

It is time to re-member what we created this place of freedom for and bring back the basic fundamentals that made that possible. It is time to be unified and whole again.

We do this first in ourselves, then in our country, and then in the world.

You spend most of your time taking care of others instead of taking care of you.

Thought:

You spend most of your time taking care of others instead of taking care of you.

Musing:

If we spent as much time taking care of other's needs and more taking care of our own, we would be happier, healthier people and happier, healthier people are more able to see to the needs of others.

If we don't take care of ourselves first, we are not able to give our all to anyone else. There will always be something missing and our efforts will be less than fruitful.

Do you want to help others? If the answer is yes, you must first help yourself.

Why do you mention Spirituality instead of God?

Dear Pat,

Why do you mention Spirituality instead of Jesus or God? I am a Christian and find this questionable.

Upset in CT

Dear Upset,

When I speak of Spirituality, I use it synonymously with God. I believe Jesus, as well as Buddha, Mohammad, and other religious leaders were all representing God in their own way of teaching. They were representing God, Wakan Tanka, All That Is, The Great I AM or whatever name you have been taught to be God.

The teachings of these great leaders, prophets and sages have become religions and therefore separated the teachings, each one believing they are THE one, or better than another. God can not be separated, He is All That Is.

So.......God is the Divine, the all loving energy that is All That Is, inclucing you, and religion is a way of worshiping that one God. I believe each religion has a piece of the puzzle.

I hope this answers your question and leads you to think about the difference between religion and spirituality. It is a wonderful question.

Living the RIGHT life, for all the WRONG reasons

Thought:

Living the RIGHT life, for all the WRONG reasons

Musing:

I don't believe in Right, or Wrong in this context, but it is the best way to explain this thought.

We often live a life we are unhappy in because it is what we believe we SHOULD be doing. It brings us financial stability, family harmony, safety, comfort and all the things we think are important..........but not joy. This is living in your head.

When you shift that to live in your heart and make life choices that bring you joy and happiness, all the things you believed were important will automatically manifest with those choices.

Instead of living your life for others, live it for you and make new choices that more directly connect to who you are. You will begin to feel happier and that will create more new choices that will create more joy.

Try it for a day, a week, a month. You will see the difference in your life and before you know it, be the person you truly wish to be.
